ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review 4.5 stars This is a book about grief, self discovery and finding love in unexpected places at unexpected times. Xeni is about the titular character, Xeni, whose favorite Aunt Sable has suddenly passed away. While in the process of the memorial and settling her Aunt’s estate she is informed that her Aunt left her an absurd amount of money. Her Aunt, ever the generous woman also left a lil something for her friend Mason McInroy, the twist? To access their inheritance Mason and Xeni must get married and stay married for at least 30 days. The marriage of convenience trope will always be fun and absurd so I of course had a blast reading this. Rebekah Weatherspoon has a great way of blending serious emotion and introspection with swoony romance and laugh out loud dialogue. The beginning of this was pretty slow because we spend so much time in Xeni’s head as she navigates her grief and confusion, resolving mostly to shove her emotions down and try not to confront everything she’s dealing with, but as she begins to spend more time with Mason the story picks up exponentially. The intimacy that develops between them was really wonderful to read, they were so soft with each other and every time they called each other “wife” “hubby” “love” “dear” I blushed and swooned. Speaking of blushing these sex scenesssss they were absolutely fantastic. So hot and imaginative. XENI PEGS HIM. Never have I read a romance where the woman gets to top her man and I’m so happy this was my first tbh. I loved reading about two bisexual characters in a relationship together and the comfort that understanding brought them. There some discussion of biphobia as well which was incredibly well handled. I adored that Mason was a rather unconventional hero, he is plus sized and bisexual in a genre that is typically so focused on muscled, hetero, alpha males it was wonderful to see this body type diversity and softness in a romance hero. Seeing a black bisexual woman being loved so sweetly and openly will always make me smile! So much to love about this sweet and funny romance. The only reason I’m struggling with a five star rating is because some of the drama with Xeni and her family was a bit frustrating, necessary I suppose but frustrating. And we all know the popular romance convention where the two lovers break up and then finally get back together just in time for the domestic epilogue but I hated their break up. Spoilery: They coulda just never broke up and the book would be the same. So what was the reason??? Very fun, very sexy and I would totally enthusiastically recommend it, i just nitpick y’all know me.
They were like “oh well after the 30 day marriage I guess we should just break up” why? If you still like each other why do it? Who’s forcing you?? It just seemed stupid but whatever.

This was PHENOMENAL. Seriously, one of my favorite smutty books ever and definitely one that I can see myself re-reading as the mood strikes. Xeni was amazing, Mason was amazing, their CHEMISTRY was amazing. This was just great. No choice but to stan a fat, bisexual love interest with a penchant for pegging lmao

2.5 stars My problem with insta love stories is that I just couldn’t help but be like okay you both are clearly in love and happy together from the very beginning of the book, so what am I doing here? The beginning of this was really cute and I was loving it. But a few chapters in and I started to lose interest. There was nothing wrong about this book that would make me hate it and the characters were actually sweet. I was just so bored and so uninterested that I started to skip many pages till the end. My main issue with this book is that things started between them so freakin quickly. Like a few chapters in and they were already in the bedroom and I’m like nooo come back here you need to have a conversation then flirt then start to have feelings then deny having them and then maybe maybe you could start being something more than a fake couple. I just need things to happen slowly for me to enjoy them. Unfortunately things didn’t happen like that. There relationship was so fast and so rushed. It kinda felt unrealistic and I didn’t buy the “chemistry” between them. This wasn’t a bad book at all, it just wasn’t for me.

This was more or less perfect? These two were so well-suited, it’s ridiculous. The intimacy that developed between them during this bizarre set up had my heart crying. It was so soft. 🥺
And don’t get me started on the sex. Blushed too much.

4 stars Xeni is the first book I've read by Rebekah Weatherspoon, but let me tell you- it won't be the last! I enjoyed this one so much and I'm looking forward to reading more by this author. Xeni's aunt has recently passed away and left her most of her estate. Xeni travels cross country to upstate NY to sort everything and finds out her aunt has secrets... not only that, but as a stipulation to inheriting an large estate, she has to marry one of her aunt's neighbors and friends, Mason McInroy. Mason seems nice, and is attractive, but Xeni is still shocked by this. Mason and Xeni decide to just do it. They'll marry for 30 days and inherit what her aunt left them. What Xeni never ever expects is to develop such a connection with Mason. Not only is there an attraction between the two (holy hot chemistry) but they truly connect. Neither of them are expecting this. I love a marriage of convince novel and this one was steamy, funny, and emotional. An all around good time. It took me a while to get into the narration, but once I did I enjoyed the audio-book. I'm can't wait to get to 'Rafe' and check out some of Weatherspoon's other works.

October 10, 2019A wildly enjoyable contemporary romance with a delightful 'marriage of convenience for the inheritance' plot and absolutely yummy characters. MOC plots often involve people hating or resenting or mistrusting each other, whereas here we have two people trapped in this absurd situation who take a sensible, generous approach, build an alliance, talk to each other, behave supportively, and generally are *exactly* the people you'd want to be forced to marry by the terms of your aunt's will. Mason is both bi and fat, which is absurdly rare for a male hero in m/f romance, Xeni has a great line in humour, the dialogue crackles, and it's all immense heart-lifting fun with enough serious subjects to give it emotional weight. Lovely.

NOW GO AND READ THIS!!! I AM WAITING FOR YOU GUYS TO READ THIS BOOK!!!
Nah...NOT like this cereal killer dude xD(Got the pun??!!)
Mason(Love interest ) cooks legitimate PERFECT meals!!
Can we appreciate R.J's response to this tweet ??🤣
Just in case you all needed another reason to read this book!!
He can serve me boiled water and I will find that tasty lmao
Not only does the Main character have curves BUT the love interest DOES NOT have six-packs!!*excited squealing*
If u read romance you know that most of the love interests are well built and have "washboard and chopping board" abs *snickers*
We don't need those abs in EVERY book!!!
Take this meme for example!!!
I AGREE WITH MR.ANDY!!!! You KNOW he is a keeper if he makes you snort while laughing😂
And Mason(the love interest) is HILARIOUS!!! And I was sooo freaking happy when Xeni mentioned his tummy as soft rather than *clears throat* rock hard with eight distinct packs ...who is the modern version of Adonis
This dude was a normal guy with a normal body and I am grateful for this body diversity
He is HUGE
Really tall and bulky BUT he felt more realistic than many other love interests in Romances
Why is this book not more popular in romance community??!!!
Mrin to the romance community rn
I just want EVERYONE to read this book!! Its that good!!
BUT unfortunately... I am terrible at writing reviews for Romance books
This is why I want everyone to read this book
If you read romance then you *might* know what I mean
It's freaking difficult to write a review for Romance book!! (Bare with my whining lmao)
Salute to all of you who write those amazing reviews
I mean Romance books are not about plot BUT they are about two people meeting and falling in love
How do I explain this*bangs head*
Like ....trust me... romance books are the best if you *feel* the love between the MCs
What I am gonna do is..I am gonna state the things I LOVED abt this book and HOPE that someone reads and writes an actual detailed review about this book*sighs*
༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
We have our Black Main character and MANY other POC characters!!!
Both of the Main characters Xeni(h) and Mason(H) are bisexual !!
Sometimes the sexy scenes are soooooo cringey that u end up laughing
Luckily that was NOT the case in this book
He is a gentle giant !!! Like a floofy teddy bear!!! he is soo freaking shy and sweet!!!
He says stuff like this!!
This scene is my fav in the entire book!!
For a change, we have the man wanting to be spoiled and taken care of!! Don't get me wrong I STILL like Alphas BUT this was sooo cute!!!
Xeni is going to the list of "fav female protagonist" !!
She is funny, sassy, sweet, caring, loyal, AND AMBITIOUS !!!
And soooo confident!! She still has her insecurities BUT she deals with them like a champ!!
And then there's her swag!
We even have body positivity for our MC!!
She is curvy (Cheers for this body rep as well) AND she LOVES her body!!
Ohhh...and did I mention she is a witch??!! (Not in a paranormal sense )
Thank goodness none of them sacrificed anything for love!!
This book had the MOST realistic ending!! Won't spoil it for you BUT you should give it a chance!
Yess!! I will wait dramatically till you guys don't read this!!

Every once in a while, I pick up a romance and find an author's voice that I know I could read anything they wrote. That's Rebekah Weatherspoon for me. There's something grounded, confident, and mature about her storytelling; I can't really think of how else to say it except that I felt as a reader that I was in good hands. The best parts of this story for me were: - Characterization: we've got a cinnamon roll, bear-sized Scotsman with a flair for whipping up seafood alfredo, sending pitch-perfect gifs, and having crystal clear communication about sexuality and intimacy. Yes. Please. Then we have Xeni, who both knows and loves herself, who is a deeply capable, self-reliant person that also can touch into her feelings and have a good cry; give me a strong soft heroine any day. - Chemistry: these two *clicked*. So, so well. They had physical attraction, dispositional compatibility, and they're so good and kind toward each other. Yes, there's banter and teasing, there's jokes and glib digs, but they're so respectful of each other's hearts. Couldn't get enough of it. - Representation: both leads are bisexual and discuss that openly and positively. Xeni is a beautiful, curvy Black woman and Mason is a big teddy bear with an almost-too-large for life, soft-tummy body. There are very organically threaded in moments that highlight white (particularly cis male) privilege, the unease Black people feel around police, the tendency for white people to touch Black people's hair, realities of Black life that are important for readers to recognize not only in nonfiction that opens our eyes to racism but in fiction that is portraying real people and real bodies. This book felt authentic, honest, and real. So much yes! - Sexy times: always developed the narrative, balanced dirty talk/hot physicality and emotional tenderness. It was so well-balanced. Basically, I can't recommend this book enough! Hot, original, heartfelt, and swoony, this was just the romance I needed.

2.25 stars dnf @83% This ‘review’ won’t be long since there’s nothing problematic w the book and its content to discuss about. it’s just that it fell flat for me, that’s all. i can see why people adore this book but personally, it wasn’t hitting the right spots for me. i also couldn’t connect w the characters and couldn’t feel any of the ‘sexual attraction/tension’ that they kept talking about. i mean, i can only read them but i didn’t feel them ‘coming off the pages’, nomsayin?? Plus, i feel like they could’ve just stayed as best friends instead of being a couple bc them being together really felt unnecessary :/ so automatically, any flirty remarks that came from either of them felt really awkward to me. i’d just cringe 😬 *would’ve pushed myself to finish the last 17% but i just don’t care anymore so ciao
My being upset for not enjoying this like everyone else is an understatement 😞
This beginning was cute but then the MCs hit it right off so quickly that it seemed so unnatural and unrealistic, especially after both of them were grieving over their loved one’s passing.

xeni and mason are truly one of my favorite couples and i really need to revisit them and re-read this soon (pt.1 of my favorite books with bisexual characters in honor of bi visibility month. in this one both of them are bi ♡) “Mason gently picked up the rings and took Xeni's hand. She saw the look in his eyes. She knew he was about to say some sweet as hell shit that would make her knees melt.”
mason is that soft and nice type of MMC that i love, and xeni is my girl, so funny and easy to love. their relationship develops very sweetly with them calling each other "babe" and "love" and being all touchy, but don't let this fool you because they have some pretty hot moments too. i remember loving them and their story very much.

First of all no one told me this book was a marriage inconvenience because if they did I would’ve immediately picked it up. Second of all this book was such a pleasant surprise, I was expecting nothing I just went into this book blindly and I loved every second of it. This story is so intriguing, the romance is so easy to follow and it just flows really well with the story. I loved the side characters as well as the main characters. I love Xeni and Mason so so much and I wish we could get more of them

I can always count on Rebekah Weatherspoon when I’m in the mood for a wonderful romance filled with steaminess and chemistry that is off the charts, and Xeni was no different. I do wish the book itself was a bit longer to allow us to see more moments between Xeni and Mason, but I thoroughly enjoyed their dynamic and the journey they took together. They were so respective of one another and communicative. I just love watching a healthy couple develop and grow stronger over time. AT A GLANCE

Two bisexual hotties are in love and they’ve inherited a lot of money plus they both don’t want any kids and there is pegging, the book has a scenario of my dreams. Swoony and funny romance. It’s another excellent book by Rebekah Weatherspoon. The audiobook narrator Antony Ferguson had a perfect sexy voice I was swooning.

I was so captured by this cover when I saw The Ripped Bodice Awards for Excellence in Romantic Fiction for 2019 that I ordered it, but I've been saving it for a rainy day. I've been reading a lot of dark and dystopian books, so a romance novel is just the thing! Technically this is book 2 in a series but Xeni was a minor character in book 1 so I didn't feel the need to read that one first (but I will be going back!) The subtitle of this is "a marriage of inconvenience" because when Xeni's aunt dies, she has to marry a stranger to get the money that has been left to her. There are some other surprises and great chemistry. Not for prudes! Great bisexual representation as well.

I didn’t want this book to end! Xeni and Mason have ruined me! Why did I have to fall so hard for these two?! A marriage of inconvenience. A gorgeous, self confident, hilarious black woman, and a HUGE, incredibly kind, attentive Scotsman are kinda forced to tie the knot so to speak, but what I didn’t expect was to fall so deeply for these two, and their journey in falling in love. One of my favorite books ever, and scenes *cough, ahem. Insert devilish smirk. I’m experiencing a swoonami of feels. “It wasn’t a pulsing heat. It was starting to feel like warmth, comfort, and she knew her emotions were too muddled to handle it like an adult.” I love that Mason brought out everything good in Xeni, and vice versa. They were each other’s refuge from day one. I loved seeing how comfortable she was with Mason, and how she opened up to him no problem. Just. Freakin. Perfect.

Note: Some of my goodreads shelves can be spoilers Overall: 4.5 rounded to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Should I read in order? Basic plot: Give this a try if you want: Ages: First line: My thoughts: This book was really sweet, surprising and beautiful! This is my second Rebekah Weatherspoon, and my favorite so far. I loved the arranged marriage vibes of this one. I loved the heroine and her finding out so much about her family history here, and the Scottish hero was just lovely. Both Xeni and Mason have such a backstory that just endears them to you so much. I feel like they really are perfect for each other. I loved the character focus and getting to know these 2! I am a bit confused as to how Weatherspoon’s books are woven together, as I have read 2 books from the middle of 2 different series and they seemed to flow right together haha. Definitely more eager to read more Weatherspoon now. Content warnings: These should be taken as a minimum of what to expect. It’s very possible I have missed some. I picked this one up alone and it was fine! I am actually not sure on series order here. If someone knows her perfect reading order, let me know!
Xeni finds out a whole bunch of family secrets after her aunt’s passing – and she now must marry to gain her inheritance
- contemporary romance
- Black heroine and Scottish hero
- LGBT positive – both mains are bisexual
- arranged marriage-ish (it’s called a marriage of inconvenience 😆
- light fake relationship vibes
- kindergarten teacher heroine
- thick hero – heroine notices that he doesn’t skip leg day OR a meal
- mains in their 30s
- bearded hero
- well-endowed hero
- childfree HEA
- celibate heroine – she hasn’t been with anyone in 5 years
- Wiccan heroine
- flexitarian heroine – she avoids red meat, and only eats chicken if there’s no other option (focuses on fish and plants)
- size difference – taller hero
- higher steam – 5 scenes with toy usage and pegging
- Heroine is 35, hero is 36
The steam behind Saint Micheal’s episcopal church was a lovely place for a memorial service.
The kiss wasn’t necessary. All they had to do was agree to be husband and wife. A friendly handshake would probably be the best move. Too bad another louder, hornier due to lack of physical contact with a man for almost 5 whole years voice screamed, ‘Kiss him! Hell, fuck him! You like his hands.’
Safe sex:
Hows the consent?
31% - wedding kiss
36% - 🔥cock touches, oral/fingering for her, hero comes in his pants
“What kind of husband are you?”
“Cruel. Impatient. Very demanding. If I want you to come, darling, you’re gonna come.”
51% - 🔥 breast play, then a bit of a break, missionary
“Come here.” Mason held out his hand.
Usually Xeni didn’t like to be told what to do, but she found herself walking right to him. He lightly took her fingers when she was within arms reach and pulled her closer to she was standing between his legs. Slowly he parted the halves of her draping sweater, exposing her body to his heated gaze.
57% - kiss
65% - 🔥 fingering/oral for her, sex against the desk
“Does that feel good, baby?” she asked and for the first time, possibly ever, she realized what it meant to want to own a man, have him craving you in ways neither of you understood.
“You know it does,” Mason replied as he pulled out inch by inch.
81% - 🔥 anal for hero (pegging)
“The moon is telling me that this is about to be the best sex of your life.”
“That’s the spirit. Lie down on the bed, gorgeous Moon Goddess. On your back.”
98% - 🔥sex that fades then epilogue picks up at the start of a scene of him doing her against the bathroom sink
“Babe! Fuck, fuck fuck. We have to stop.”
“Not until you come,” Mason groaned.
Overall: How I felt about it everything considered!
Readability: How ‘readable’ was the book? Did I fly through it? Did I have to tell myself to pick it back up repeatedly? Were any passages confusing? (I will probably score like (1) is literally unreadable due to formatting/typing errors, etc (2) There were lots of errors that made it difficult to read OR It was extremely confusing and I had to reread passages to make sense of it OR I disliked it so much I had to bribe myself to keep reading (3) I didn’t really want to keep reading and would have preferred to abandon the read and start something else OR some minor continuity issues/confusion (4) I liked it fine, maybe a minor error or 2. I was happy to pick it up when I had time. (5) I never wanted to put this down. I thought about it when I wasn’t reading it. I hid in the bathroom from my kids to read. I threw inappropriate food at my children for dinner so I could read instead.)
Feels: Totally subjective to each person but did the book give me any tingles? Any butterflies? Did it rip my heart out (in a good way?)
Emotional depth: How well do I feel I know the characters at the end? How much did I feel their emotions throughout the story?
Sexual tension: Again, subjective, but how strong was the wanting and longing to me between the characters? A book might have strong sexual tension without a single touch.
Romance: Was there romance? Did romantic things happen? This can be actions/words/thoughts of the characters and again is subjective.
Sensuality: This is how the intimate scenes are written. Kisses and sexual scenes – how sensual were they? Were they on the mechanical side? Was there emotional pull tied in? Were the details explicit or flowery? These are subjective but generally (1) too short to get a good judgement (2) not all what I'm looking for - very vague or flowery prose (3) either not explicit enough or not enough emotional pull (too mechanical/physically descriptive without the emotions) (4) what I love in a scene (5) absolute perfection - perfect balance of emotional longing and explicit descriptions
Sex Scene Length: How long the bedroom scenes are (generally (1) is 1-3 sentences (2) is a few paragraphs to a page-ish (3) is about average, a few pages (4) more well developed scenes, quite a few pages with descriptions (4) the majority of the book takes place in the bedroom. This is always hard to tell for me on audio!
Steam Scale: Generally, each flame is a scene. If scenes are super close together I sometimes combine them. If a scene is super short or so vague I don’t know what’s happening, I don’t count it. There’s some levels of grey but generally the number of flames is how many sex scenes there are (I max out at 5 so I’ll put a + after if there’s more than that)

I was ecstatic to see someone awesome in my county library system must have requested Xeni for print purchase! I was going to do it but they beat me to the punch! A lovely examination of a contemporary "arranged marriage" between a grieving woman who recently lost her beloved aunt and also finds out her family has been hiding major secrets, and the sweet and burly Scotsman who she must marry for a month in order for her to secure them both a large inheritance. Sweet as pie and kinky too, this is a perfect read for these hard times. CW for death of loved ones (off page)

Hi. Rebekah Weatherspoon continues releasing my favorite romance books. With each new book, I'm like "wait now this is my new favorite forever" and this happened with Xeni as well. The newly released Xeni, a marriage of convenience romance, was simply fabulous. Made me happy, swoony, I shed some tears in some scenes. I was big ball of messy emotions while reading it but I woudn't have it any other way. Yes! There is a marriage of convenience trope. Our protagonists, Xeni and Mason, both have to marry each other based on the letters Aunt Sable left them so they can have access to the fortune she gave them. Both need it for reasons so they agree to it, either way it's only 30 days, right? But we all know what's going to happen and let me tell you . . . reading about them falling in love while calling each other "wife", "husband", "love", and "dear" made me feel all gooey inside. Rebekah does THAT. Also Mason is a sweetheart that sends reaction gifs for everything and I'm into it. Pick it up for:
ღ Bisexual Black heroine that suddenly finds out about a LOT of things in her life
ღ Bisexual fat Scotsman hero who cooks for the heroine only and plays the bagpipes and is the greatest human in the world
ღ A marriage of convenience because hello they need that $$$ and the only way to get it is to marry each other
ღ "We better ask how soon you can divorce me, 'cause as long as you're my wife, I'll always come after you" - Mason cutie pie McInroy
ღ There's a pegging scene oh yeah

I received a copy from the author in exchange of an honest review CW: explicit sex scenes, death of a loved one, grief, talk of past abortion and past miscarriage, parental abuse, parental rejection of queerness, serious parental illness. The first word that comes to mind when I think of Xeni is Delightful. That’s it. That’s the review. Okay, but in all seriousness, Xeni meshes lighthearted funny romance, and emotionally heavy moments so well that you love it all the more for it. So the whole premise of this book is based on a marriage of convenience between Xeni and Mason by her aunt so she can get her inheritance, and you know what I loved and found refreshing about this book? It’s the fact that neither of them was reticent and instead of getting married and trying to keep their distance, they decided to get the most out of their arrangement before getting a divorce, and that goes SUPREMELY WELL. As per the romance genre’s conventions the two of them have the time of their lives together and get intimate not only physically but also emotionally. The tenderness and vulnerability the two of them show each other, peeling back each other’s layers little by little until they’re naked (hehe, get it) and too far gone to backtrack. I read this book about 2 months ago and this hot novel is still ringing in my head. Xeni is best friends with Dr. Sloan Copeland childhood prodigy turned heart surgeon before 30. Xeni is eccentric, sassy and she is laying her favorite aunt to rest. This isn’t the ideal news that Xeni wanted to get after her best friends new marriage and life but things are about to shake up. When Xeni is read the her aunts will almost 4 decades worth of secrets are uncovered. Not only that but in order to collect her inheritance she has 10 days to clean out her aunts estate and marriage a man she’s never met. Mason was good friends with Xeni’s aunt Sable and isn’t prepared for this bomb that is dropped on all of them. Xeni thinks Mason was using her aunt for money and Mason just wants to get the hell out of here. The decide why not have this fake wedding and make the best of it. It’s a no brainer and a win, win. Money 💴 ✔️ This book was so easy to read even though it was filled with drama. This book is interracial, bisexual romance, friends to lovers, marriage of inconvenience and another cheesy jokes to make even the grinch smile. I would read this again and again whenever I needed a quick little mental break honestly and I recommend you do the same. Happy reading everyone 😍🥰😍🥰

The author is busy tying together pretty much all her contemporary romance novels into the same universe. In this case we have Xeni from Rafe: A Buff Male Nanny and Mason from Sanctuary, as well as supporting characters from some of her other books. In this case Xeni travels to upstate New York from California to settle the affairs of her recently passed aunt only to find that her aunt's will specifies that she and expatriate scot Mason McInroy get married so that they can each receive money from her estate. They go into the marriage reluctantly but make the best of it, and fairly quickly realize that there's more than a small amount of attraction between them. As Xeni goes through the revelations that her aunt dropped on her and manages her feelings of shock and betrayal towards her whole family, Mason is there to support her, making the relationship pretty wonderful. I recommend this, and I that extends to pretty much all of these contemporary books from this author.

4.5 stars In this book, the author managed to make this marriage of convenience book so much more. So Xeni and Mason decide the money is worth a month of marriage even though they are strangers. The journey was entertaining, sweet and sexy. It was a treat to watch both Xeni and Mason grow and take control of their own destiny. They learned to self advocate and they also learned that love comes in different forms. It was an awesome read and it had great diversity. I loved this one more than book 1. It did feature the same group of friends from Rafe but this romance was so much more. The characters were more complex, and just more fun than book 1.
I loved this audiobook. I love Antony Ferguson as a narrator though I normally hear him in Highlander romances.
Xeni’s aunt died and left Xeni almost $27 million dollars in money and assets but in order to claim it. Xeni must marry a man her aunt chose and stay married for at least a month.
The aunt chose a Scottish man named Mason, whom the aunt has formed a connection with and he is also in a good amount of debt thanks to student loans and such.

- Streckenweise fand ichs echt langweilig. Der Konflikt von Mason mit seinem Vater hat mich auch nicht so interessiert. Die kurze Trennungsphase am Ende fand ich unlogisch.

This was on my list of books that I wanted to read by the end of the year. I read Rafe a few months ago and only thought it was ok, but this? This book was SO good. It's my favorite by Rebekah Weatherspoon so far. In order for Xeni to claim her inheritance, she has to marry Mason, who she has just met at the funeral. This book was all things marriage of convenience to friends to lovers deliciousness with a big teddy bear of a Scottish hero. The chemistry between these two was on fire. I loved Xeni and Mason and most importantly, I loved them together.

It was a nightmare to go through this one… no chemistry, no relationship development. There was an instant attraction and very anti-climatic spicy scenes. As someone already mentioned, you read this and think “what am I doing here if they are already together?”
